Field Beds
My field beds are nice enough to use as your primary bed at home, but break down completely for easy packing. Since I make each one to order, your bed will be customized to your needs. We will discuss your historical portrayal, transport requirements, authenticity preferences, etc. and come up with the best design we can for you.
Are you really tall and hate having your feet hang off the end of the bed? No problem.
Do you need full coverage for a foam mattress that would slip through the gaps in a standard slat bed? No problem.
Want a rope suspension instead of slats? No problem (I might try to talk you out of it. In my opinion rope bed are fine for at home, but a big pain for travel, but ultimately its your bed so you get to make the decisions).
Want a tall headboard, short headboard, no footboard, tester bed, paneled, bed-bolts instead of tapered pegs, Oseburg style viking, etc., I can do those too (though not all at once).
Prices vary, but figure on around $2000 (twin) as a good starting point.
